Monday, October 20, 2014 was Cultural Enrichment Day when our members brought their Heritage Skill and Craft Projects. We had 49 projects brought to be judged by the members attending. The top 8 projects with the most votes will be sent to IAHCE State Conference in March 2015 to complete with other Illinois HCE counties.

Nancy Mathis, Mayview Unit – Photography and Crocheting
Jean Swaim, Bondville/Seymour Unit – Knitting
Sue Chapman, Mayview Unit – Wearable Art
Joyce Kerstra, Dewey/Fisher Unit – Painting – also won “Best of Show”
After members voted, the Program was a demonstration by Mary Lou Younger on making Mess Wreaths for the difference Holidays.
Guest speaker for the day was Millie Otto, who writes a weekly column in the News-Gazette “My Amish Home”. Our other speaker was Faith Roberts with Carle “Alzheimer’s”. Our Entertainment was Jill Dautzenberg, singing old time favorite songs.
