Cultural Arts encourage appreciation of and participation in the arts, including visual, performing, printed and applied. Visual arts: visit art galleries and museums; Performing arts: encourage attendance at and participation in theater and musical productions; Printed arts: book reviews, red to children (i.e. in public schools), encourage creative writing; Applied arts: quilting, embroidery, needlework, counted cross stitch, crocheting, knitting, crafts, artwork, photography, handmade jewelry, scrapbooking, rug making and items made from recycled items.
Members bring these projects to our yearly Cultural Arts Day in October to show and have their projects judged for IAHCE State Conference in March of each year. See the IAHCE website for categories and rules for projects sent to the State Conference– http://www.iahce.org pages 25 and 26.
