Certified Volunteer Hour Program is to promote Countywide volunteering, to help members recognize their personal growth in volunteer leadership skills, and to show members the valuable and essential services rendered as volunteers. This program is also a way of showing appreciation for valuable and essential services rendered as volunteers. Only hours not counted in this program is anything that is done for a family members.
Members keep a record of the volunteer hours during the year. These hours are transferred at the end of year on the Individual Volunteer Hour Summary sheet that is given to the Unit Volunteer Chairman and they send these forms to IAHCE Certified Volunteer Hour Chairman. Members will receive a Certificate of Recognition issued for the first 500 hours. For each additional 500 hours an embossed seal is issued and attached to the certificate. Example, the Certificate and 4 seals represent 2500 hours of volunteer service. See the IAHCE website for the Individual Volunteer Hour Summary sheet. www.iahce.org – page 75
